Signal Grid - Prototype 01

Description

Signal Grid - Prototype 01 is the first physical prototype of Runewood’s Signal Grid design.

Built around a precise geometric pattern of dark lines set into an end-grain surface, the board explores rhythm, repetition and controlled variation within the material.

As an early prototype, this piece contains minor variations in the alignment of several lines. These do not affect its function, but they fall outside the level of geometric precision intended for the final Signal Grid design.

Rather than discard the piece, it is offered as a unique record of the development process — a one-of-one prototype that will not be reproduced in exactly this form.

Handmade in Småland and finished individually by hand.

Prototype note

This is a prototype piece.

Several of the inlaid lines vary slightly in angle from the intended geometry. The differences are small and do not affect the board’s function, but they are the reason this piece is not part of the numbered Runemark series.

The board shown in the photographs is the exact piece you will receive.

Finish

Finished with tung oil and beeswax to protect the wood while preserving its natural feel and character.

For ongoing care, we recommend Runewood Eir Wood Balm.
